Steina and Woody Vasulka

This site contains several interviews with Steina and Woody Vasulka speaking about their early work and artistic practice, their philosophies, The Kitchen (NYC), and the exhibitions 'Machine Media' (1996-97) at the Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the making of 'The Brotherhood' at the NTT InterCommunications Center, Tokyo, Japan (1998).

The videos collected here were shot by Aaron S. Davidson and have been compiled and edited by Melissa Dubbin.
The videos were shot in 1996, 1997 and 1998.

This video documents a few moments during the making of Woody Vasulka's series 'The Brotherhood'. The footage includes early tests of surveillance systems that were implemented to monitor and diagnose the installations remotely. Featuring Russ Gritzo and Bruce Hamilton who were the chief programmers and engineers of 'The Brotherhood' team.
