Steina and Woody Vasulka

This site contains several interviews with Steina and Woody Vasulka speaking about their early work and artistic practice, their philosophies, The Kitchen (NYC), and the exhibitions 'Machine Media' (1996-97) at the Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the making of 'The Brotherhood' at the NTT InterCommunications Center, Tokyo, Japan (1998).

The videos collected here were shot by Aaron S. Davidson and have been compiled and edited by Melissa Dubbin.
The videos were shot in 1996, 1997 and 1998.

Steina describes entering the Electronic Age through audio, their initial explorations with tape delay, harnessing audio feedback and their interest in using audio synthesizers as a tool for creating videos which allowed sound-from-image and image-from-sound possibilities.
